My words keep stopping before they begin.

I am lost for what to say.  But the metaphor is too much not to share.

When Gift was pronounced dead it meant that my house and contents were to be under a Coroner’s investigation (and, myself, if I am to be honest…)  because he died suddenly in the bathroom.  Pretty much everything that was in the bathroom was taken.  Including my watch.

After a year of the police (who assist the Doctor in the investigation) still having my watch I called to get it back.

The officer who had been at the hospital with us brought my watch home.

I didn’t know that they had Gift’s watch too.  I thought we buried it on his wrist.

I had thought at times that his watch was probably still ticking away

Papers were signed and my watch was brought back to me.  As was Gifts.

My watch battery had stopped… who knows when.

Gift’s watch is still going.

If this was an independent movie I’m sure there would be some metaphor there.  I can’t find words for it myself.

I’m so glad you got both watches back. I agree there is meaning in that.
